spiderman in rittenhouse park!

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

on monday, i met up with Cheyenne and his mom at Rittenhouse Square Park. it was an absolutely beautiful day! i have photographed Cheyenne before so i knew to expect fun…. and that is exactly what we had. i LOVE that he had his spiderman gear at hand too. very cool. he kept “shooting his web” into the sky, which was adorable.

he ran, jumped and enjoyed a lollipop all throughout the park. he is seriously the most fun and gorgeous little boy, a true reflection of his mom & dad.

thank you, Cheyenne! you were wonderful!! :)

first, here is one of my favorites from my session with Cheyenne and his parents last year. it is so fun to see how they grow!

the E.T. Hamilton School in voorhees, nj had a fundraiser last fall. i donated a session, an 8×10 and a dvd slideshow. after much planning and re-planning (due to bad weather)…. the lucky family and i were finally able to meet for their free portrait session! we went to strawbridge lake park, a beautiful park in moorestown, nj.

the winning family was so much fun! i learned a lot about them in a short amount of time. here’s a few fun things i learned….
the oldest, Briya, plays the clarinet and likes to climb (one of my favorite things to do too!)
Adena, loves to do headstands and is really good at them! (also… one of my favorite yoga moves!)
Ben is a baseball fan, he recently met Brad Lidge and we will both be at the Phillies game this Wednesday…. woohoo!
Dad’s nickname is “Duck”….. we found that out after I mentioned that some friends call me “Chicken”
Mom is good at winning things! She’s got quite a list of recent winnings!

anyway, here are the pics….

after having the kids run for the above shot… they discovered a beehive that had fallen to the ground. the hive and honeycomb were scattered in pieces all over the ground along with the flustered and tired bees.

my newest cousin….

Monday, September 14th, 2009

my cousin, Genevieve, gave birth to the most beautiful little baby boy, Lucas J.. She asked me to come to the hospital to get some newborn portraits. I was, of course, delighted. Sometimes it still amazes me to think that we (my siblings, cousins, etc) are all grown up. I often still think of us as little kids getting together on Christmas and showing off our latest cabbage patch dolls…. or having sleepovers and watching the little shop of horrors. haha. Anyway! It is fun to see our family grow and see the new generation create their own memories.

Little Lucas J. was such an angel for his first photo shoot too. He was sleepy but he even opened up his eyes for a bit to say hello to mommy and to check out my camera…. What a ham! Here he is::

my grandmom’s wedding dress….

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

okay…. though i ended up really loving my actual wedding dress…. i have to share the beauty of my grandmom’s dress. i tried it on long after my dress was already bought. even still…. i considered having a seamstress make some alterations and wear it on my wedding day instead. it turns out that i didn’t…. but i at least did a little self portrait photo shoot with it first. i adore the back…. however… my grandmom must have had a 10 inch waist. there was absolutely no way to get that thing buttoned up my back! i love the color, the simplicity of the lace and the magnificent details. and, of course, that it was my grandmom’s. :)
so first…. here are my grandparents and their bridal party on their wedding day. love this!
