boys have energy!!

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

This year I had the pleasure to photograph Max & Xan again!  They are the most wonderful little boys.  They are SO FULL OF ENERGY so I was sure to have finished off my large coffee and a big bowl of cereal before arriving that morning.  The boys’ Mom and Grandmom were there as well.  They are so kind and so inviting, just a pleasure to work with every time!

Both boys love their toy figurines, story books, as well as their backyard.  We basically just let them play, read, run, dance and eat while I tried to keep up following them around with my camera.

Both Max & Xan love to quote movies and to sing as well.  Since our session, I have had the song, “Heat Miser”, from The Year Without a Santa Claus, in my head.  What a great song!   Since the boys both love Toy Story, I will end with………  “TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!”   :)

Communion Portraits!

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

So, Alex did make his Communion a few months ago…. but it is never too late for portraits!  In fact, it worked out great as we also did some portraits of Alex with his 2 beautiful sisters, Nicole and Natalie.  I brought a couple of backgrounds to their home and we got started….  All 3 kids did a fantastic job for portraits!  They were fun and goofy but also listened really well.  How I love that!  :)   Mom and Dad were both there to make goofy faces behind me and elicit smiles when needed, which was great.  Luckily, I never mind a few “bunny ears”.

The very handsome Alex:

another year older….

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

i had the pleasure, once again, to photograph a beautiful little girl that i had photographed last year as well.  i love my job for many reasons.  one, in particular is because it is so much fun to see children grow.  i also really enjoy connecting with and staying in touch with so many wonderful families!

Samantha (Sam) is so much fun.  she has the most beautiful red hair, a wonderful imagination, a great sense of humor and a VERY LARGE collection of stuffed animals!  she loves all of them, knows each of their names and how and from whom she acquired them.  i find this all very impressive for a little girl of 4!

Sam, her Mom and I spent the day reading stories, playing with animals and then headed outside to jump in leaves and climb trees.  what a great day!

here is Sam’s holiday card from last year (the front anyway)…. and yes, Sam is still quite a big fan of Rudolph this year…

Sam does what her Mom calls “the scarecrow”.  this was hilarious.  she can hold a serious and still look for quite some time.  do NOT get into a staring contest with Sam.  she WILL win!  :)

more Valley Forge! this time with deer!

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

after my first session at Valley Forge, i returned the next morning to photograph the cousins of the first session.  Tyler & Chase were so much fun!  i had a great time chasing these 2 boys around.  Tyler, 4, was really great for the portraits.  he listened so well and has a great personality.  Chase was great too!  he loves to run, especially on a concrete path….. luckily he is a very strong little boy and recovered from a couple of tough falls with hardly a tear.  :)

and…. we also encountered a few deer enjoying breakfast along our walk.  that was really cool!

Tyler was so happy approaching the deer.  he could have gotten even closer, i’m sure, but we decided this was surely close enough!

we got these two together for a few photos by having them sit on the fence by the road and watch the big trucks go by!  yes, i was nearly in the road… but it worked!

Valley Forge

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

last week i met up with a family that i have been photographing for a few years. it was great to see them as well as the newest addition to their family, Jack! we planned to meet at Valley Forge National Historic Park which, as you probably know, is HUGE. i thought i was all set and arrived early only to learn that i was in the wrong location and was actually about 3 miles away. oooops! i was so embarrassed to be late but luckily the kids were still excited and happy and mom & dad both were very understanding (thanks for that!).

anyway, i did some individuals of the beautiful, Sofia and the little man, Jack. Sofia braved the chill in the air and did a fantastic job. Jack was great too. for 4 months old he is a very strong little boy! we did some fun family portraits as well. all in all it was an absolutely beautiful day in a beautiful location with a wonderful family.
