Jason!
recently an old friend from college (i think i can say that since it has been well over 5 years…) contacted me asking to do some head shots for his brother, Jason. Jason is a school teacher but has decided to try out modeling as well (with good reason as you will see!). Though probably a bit nervous in the beginning, he really warmed up and we had a lot of fun walking around Fishtown and finding interesting places to photograph.

when my friend, Mike, first asked me about the portraits and how much it would cost, i knew right away that i would prefer to barter for some of his fabulous artwork. i have always enjoyed his work and i am so happy to have yet another print to add to my collection! be sure to check out his website HERE! some really great stuff!

anyway, here are a few pics from the day::::

i like this next picture because of 1- the cat and 2- the guy in the background. that man in the background had walked by us carrying a cage with what appeared to be a live squirrel in it. i have no idea of his intentions…. but it was quite interesting and a bit creepy.

i had this idea to climb a nearby wall that i thought would have a great view of the city. so, we busted out our climbing skills [to those that climb, i'd say it was 5.6/ 5.7 move ;) ] and ventured up the wall. turns out that the view wasn’t all that great… but it was fun anyway. you can see just how tall the wall was in the background on the left of the photo. eventually a guy with a badge came over and told us we were going to be arrested if we didn’t get down. now that would have made some interesting photos!

Jason jumped down ahead of me which allowed me to get these….

UPenn School of Nursing….

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Recently, I had yet another opportunity to work with The University of Penn School of Nursing. This time we worked in the Psychiatric Department which was extremely interesting.

The project, again, was collaborative and I got to work with a group of very talented people. Namely, designer and “ring leader”, Dale Parenti, of The Creative Department, writer; Amy Hughart, as well as videographers; Janet Gala and Jason Fifield. My photographs were used throughout the new website and on the videos as well.

Here is a link to the new website:

Part of my job was to take some photographs of toys that are used to help evaluate the mental health of children. How fun and fitting that I got to play with toys for this project. :)

Paradise Cove Tanning!

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Recently I was asked to do some photos for Paradise Cove Tanning.  Okay, so, admittedly, I am not a tanner.  In fact, I have never self tanned.  I don’t actually have a good reason for this except that I am a bit of a tomboy still… I have also never dyed my hair, nor do I regularly get manicures, etc….  ANYWAY, if I were to tan (and am thinking maybe now I may!) this would most definitely be the place I would go!  It is an amazing salon with clean/ state of the art equipment in a large, inviting, relaxing and happy space.  There is a sand box area for the kids, a beach mural, a tikki bar and even a hammock!  It is unreal.  In addition to tanning, they offer teeth whitening (which I may use to add a little sparkle to my pearly whites for my upcoming wedding!).  Oh, did I mention that the staff is incredible as well as the owners?  Well, they are.  :)

Okay, I know…. enough talk show some of the pictures….  Here you go!
