Last Spring, Natalie made her First Communion. Luckily, her dress still fit and she had an excuse to get her hair done again. She looked gorgeous and was a lovely and natural model!! I also had the pleasure of photographing her brother, Alex, over two years ago for his First Communion as well. Between the two of them and their older sister, Nicole, they make my job a breeze! This year, we did an entire family portrait and had a great time. This is a beautiful family and I really enjoy getting to spend time with them.

Thanks to everyone for making my job so fun!!

Philadelphia Museum of Art Communion Portraits!

This week I met up with an absolutely adorable and fun family behind The Philadelphia Museum of Art for some Communion portraits. Audrey, the Communion, girl did a spectacular job! She was simply a natural in front of the camera. Her parents were very laid back and open minded to all sorts of fun ideas. Lucky for Audrey, they even let her eat ice-cream in her dress after the portraits. All of us, including their cute little dog, Ringo, had a great time weaving our way around cyclists and runners and finding open spaces to photograph. It was a gorgeous day and I am very excited to share with you just some of the fun portraits! Here you go…..

Communion Portraits!

I had SUCH a lovely time photographing Elizabeth (aka “Lizzie”) for her Communion Portraits this week. She and her family were all so sweet and easy going! I learned that she loves Dinosaurs, bows in her hair, and her adorable little doggie. Though Lizzie was recovering from a bit of a cold, she was very happy and more than willing to do anything for the portraits. No complaints whatsoever! Thanks, Lizzie!!!

Garden Communion Portraits

Everything about this day was perfect. The weather, the location and, of course, the models! : )

Kaitlyn is making her Communion very soon and her mom had the idea to go to a garden for the portraits, which made me very happy. I always love photographing in a new location and this one is really beautiful. It is the Sayen Gardens in Trenton, NJ. It is a bit further than I normally travel, but it was well worth it. The grounds are very well kept and there is so much beautiful nature all around. A gem, indeed!

Kaitlyn; her younger brother, Patrick; their mom and I wandered around the garden stopping every few moments for portraits. There were just so many great vantage points Both Kaitlyn & Patrick did wonderful and were so patient with me the entire time.

And here is one with their awesome mom. Seriously, she was so laid back and made the session so much fun. Towards the end, the kids broke out their sunglasses, danced in the dirt, threw flowers and even submerged their arms completely in water. She was fine with all of it! Thanks so much, Suzanne!!

And, what would one of my blogs be without animals, tree climbing or bugs? Kaitlyn & Patrick found a moth submerged in water. They rescued it and placed it on a bench to dry off. We thought maybe with a kiss it would turn into a prince. No such luck… maybe next time….

Madison & Meghan’s Communion Portraits….

So….. as I mentioned in the previous post, I have lots of Communions going on right now. For this session, I photographed my cousin, Madison, and her good friend, Meghan. I feel so lucky again as they were both as wonderful and excited for the portraits as my last session. We had so much fun! Unfortunately, it was pouring rain outside. We had really wanted to do some outdoor portraits. Though we didn’t get outside, I love the way the rain coming down the window looks! We got a bit of the outdoors inside which was great. And, as many of you know….. I do love rain!

Anyway, Madison and Meghan, you did a FABULOUS job for the portraits! Thank you so very much! I had so much fun. : )

And, here is Madison Rose with her adorable cat, Shadow…. He was coaxed out from under the bed for this portrait with a piece of chicken. : )

And, now, MEGHAN!

I also took a few photos of Meghan’s adorable sister, Maura, who was so extremely patient throughout the entire session. I love the way their portraits look together side by side….

And here is what the girls really wanted to do the entire session… get photographs together, jump and play! We waited until the end, of course!

I love that it looks like they are floating with no feet….. kind of like fairies with their big dresses too…

Communion time!

Well, it is that time of year again…. Communion time! I happen to have 2 cousins and a nephew all making their Communion this year. How exciting!

For this session, I took a drive to Lancaster county to photograph my beautiful cousin, Julia, for her First Communion portraits. And, yes, I even passed a horse and buggy on the way there! Unfortunately, it was a bit cold and damp outside that day though that didn’t stop us from going out for just a few!

Anyway, Julia is definitely a natural for the camera and did such a great job for the portraits! Following her lead, her Mom, Dad, sister and 2 friends did fantastic as well! Thank you all so much! I had a great time and it was great to see you all. I hope this weekend is wonderful for you!

Communion Portraits!

So, Alex did make his Communion a few months ago…. but it is never too late for portraits! In fact, it worked out great as we also did some portraits of Alex with his 2 beautiful sisters, Nicole and Natalie. I brought a couple of backgrounds to their home and we got started…. All 3 kids did a fantastic job for portraits! They were fun and goofy but also listened really well. How I love that! Mom and Dad were both there to make goofy faces behind me and elicit smiles when needed, which was great. Luckily, I never mind a few “bunny ears”.

A beautiful rainy spring day!

It was definitely rainy and gray on the morning of these two portrait sessions. I was very excited though! I tend to enjoy a nice rainy day. It helps to set a nice mood for the portraits. My first session was with three siblings. We did individuals as well as them all together.

Here are some of Connor’s individuals. He is making his First Holy Communion soon!

Then I headed outside with Kaylan. Isn’t she just stunning?! The fog made for a beautiful soft background….

then…. I got some of big brother, Dylan. I was sincerely impressed with his maturity and helpfulness during the entire session. Thanks, Dylan!

Lastly, we got all three kids together. Big thanks to Mom for letting the kids get a little dirty! I wasn’t going to have them sit on the steps because of the rain and mud, but she said, “they are just clothes, they can be washed!”. What a great attitude! I absolutely loved that.
