I was extremely excited on my way to this portrait session. It was a beautiful Fall afternoon and I was headed to Fort Washington, PA, an area I know to be especially beautiful this time of year. Not only did I luck out with a beautiful day and location but two gorgeous little girls were waiting for me at the door when I pulled up. Emeline & Lydia quickly came to my car to say hello. They were so sweet and adorable, as expected! (By the way, don’t you just love both of their names!!)
I had talked quite a bit with their mom prior to the portrait session about ideas for the photographs. Bonnie is filled with great ideas and has a great sense of style. Also, she was very open to ideas. We decided to put some furniture outside and to do casual and fun things like read a book, have a tea party, play with portrait frames, etc… As always, a collaboration of ideas along with beautiful models, I think, worked out well.
Bonnie says that the girls thought of me being there as a play date rather than a photography session. That makes me very happy! That is precisely what I try to do for each portrait session. I just want all kids and families to be themselves! Lastly, one of the girls named one of their dolls “Melissa”. This, apparently, is a huge honor and that makes me smile. 🙂
I am trying out a new way of showcasing the portraits… I hope that you enjoy these!
Such a beautiful session! You are so talented Melissa.
