Two years ago today, I married Carl. It has been just over 6 years since we first met. And, yes, we proudly met online using “The Onion Online Personals”. I figured that anyone that enjoyed The Onion would have a sense of humor. I certainly lucked out there as nobody I know has the sense of humor that Carl does! He makes me laugh every single day and though he offers so much more, I honestly couldn’t ask for more.
Though he will probably be embarrassed by this, I recently came across my folded up print out of his dating profile (which I, of course had shared with friends prior to the date to discuss whether or not he may be a pyscho, jerk, serial killer or worse…. boring!). I can’t find a copy of what mine looked like though I do remember that my tagline was “waiting for superman”. I am just so happy that I found him!!
I like to say that online dating was like online shopping. You are never sure if you will like the product or how it will fit until you see it in person AND…. you can always make an exchange. 🙂
Anyway, don’t worry, I’ll save the real mushy stuff for him…. but for now, Happy Anniversary, Carl! Thanks for making life so fun!
