I am excited to share that my mom was recently featured on 95.7 Ben FM’s Woman of the Week Program! Her interview aired this past Sunday and we are all so proud of her! Though there are many reasons that my mom would be chosen to be highlighted as an extraordinary woman, this program focused on her connection and outspokenness on increasing awareness and research for lung disease.
As many of you already know, my dad passed away nearly 2 years ago from complications dues to lung cancer. We believe that his death could have been prevented. For the second year in a row my mom has joined forces with The American Lung Association and organized a team, Truckin’ For Harry, to climb Logan Square (no easy task, I hear!) to raise money and awareness for lung disease. Our hope is that we can spare others the agony that we have gone through in loosing my dad so early. Please take a moment to listen to my mom’s story:
